Dr. Amy Shannon, PhD, CPsych
Clinical Psychologist & Clinic Director
Dr. Amy Shannon is a registered clinical psychologist. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from York University.

Before founding Resolution Psychology Dr. Shannon spent 5 years working at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in the Psychological Trauma/Work, Stress, & Health programs where she assisted individuals who were experiencing challenges with the sequela of psychological trauma with a special focus on working with first responders.
At Resolution Psychology, Dr. Shannon has continued her focus on assisting first responders and their spouses. She has also branched out to other high performance occupations including elite athletes, healthcare providers, and legal professionals. She works with the Canadian Olympic Committee, professional sports teams, and professional trade organizations to improve the mental well-being of their members. She also has a special interest in working with individuals who are experiencing challenges with eating, body image, and perfectionism.

​Dr. Shannon uses her extensive training and experience to tailor treatment to best meet your needs. She works exclusively using evidence-based treatments including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.

At Resolution Psychology, Dr. Shannon provides assessment and treatment for adults and couples with a range of challenges including: trauma, disordered eating, perfectionism, depression, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, and stress. She strives to use her expertise in evidence-based approaches to therapy to collaboratively work with clients to meet their goals and create lasting change in their lives.

In addition to her work at Resolution Psychology, Dr. Shannon also holds a faculty position at York University. She has published several scholarly works focused on perfectionism, eating, and body image.

CLINICAL TEAM
Katie Benitah, MA, MSc
Therapist
Katie is currently completing her PhD in clinical psychology at York University. She holds an MA in Clinical Neuropsychology and an MSc in Neuroscience.

Katie uses experiential and cognitive approaches to treatment to assist clients to meet their goals. She uses an integrative approach that is customized to meet the unique needs of each client. She assists individuals that are experiencing challenges with mood, anxiety, and stress management.

Katie is currently offering psychological services under the supervision of Dr. Shannon.

Emma Showers, MSW, RSW, MEd
Social Worker
Emma is a Registered Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Work degree from Western University and a Master of Education in Developmental Psychology from the University of Toronto.
Emma uses a client-centered and collaborative approach to ensure that you feel seen, heard, and supported. She has training in several evidence-based approaches to psychotherapy including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Emma believes in the power of human connection and is dedicated to helping you navigate your unique journey with empathy, integrity, and a shared commitment to your growth.
Emma is currently offering services to adults that are experiencing challenges with trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, navigating life transitions, relationships, and overwhelming emotions.

Azalea Ramos, MSW, RSW
Social Worker
Azalea is a Registered Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Work degree from McMaster University.

Azalea uses Gottman Therapy as well as Emotion Focused Therapy to help couples strengthen their relationship. She is a curious and compassionate therapist who will work with you to honour your strengths while building new skills to meet your goals.

Azalea is currently offering services to couples that are experiencing challenges with communication, trust, intimacy, conflict resolution, parenting, betrayal, and emotional distance.
